When it comes time to get a new computer or laptop, think refurbished. If your old laptop is in bad shape and you’ve had it for a few years, you’ll be amazed at how many more bells and whistles the new systems have. That being said, don’t get fooled by the bells and whistles. Think refurbished.
Dell Refurbished Computers
I’ve purchased Dell computers for years. The third computer I purchased was a Dell. I say the third computer because the first was a home made computer by a “computer guy.” I knew so little that I called him every other day because I didn’t know what I was doing.
When I outgrew the homemade computer, I bought a Packard Bell computer (yes, I’m that old). I used that for a bit and then I purchased my first Dell. Once I bought a Dell I never purchased any other type of computer. By the time I got around to Dell I knew enough to realize that the store-bought pre-packaged computers didn’t suit my computing needs. With Dell I was able to pick and choose features.
Fast Forward Several Years
I now realize that I don’t need or use half of the bells and whistles that come prepackaged in new computers. Therefore, I go to the Dell Outlet where they sell refurbished systems and order my computers from there. Their computers are warranted, well-made and inexpensive. This post is being typed on a 5 year old refurbished Dell laptop.
Time to Upgrade
After 5 years my computer is beginning to tell me it’s time to upgrade. So, I’m going back to Dell and ordering another refurbished laptop. A refurbished Dell works out to be a few hundred dollars cheaper than a brand new laptop even when I apply my hubby’s 12% employee discount.
Don’t Stop There
In addition to refurbished laptops and desktops, I’ve purchased refurbished digital cameras and other electronics. Before you spend your money, take a look to see if the manufacturer offers refurbished products. You’ll save a bundle.
