No matter how much I try to go paperless, there’s always something that needs to be printed. I have reduced the amount of documents I print, but there’s no way I can memorize MapQuest driving directions, so things like that and some applications force me to use my printer.
The other day I had to purchase an emergency cartridge of ink. As fate would have it, my son needed to print something for school and the printer ink was not just acting a little funny, it was completely dry. Only every 5th line printed.
Printer Ink Price Shock
I ran to the store to buy ink and nearly passed out when I saw how much the prices have risen. I ended up spending more than what the printer was worth. I seriously considered looking for a different type of printer because spending $100 every time I need to refill ink cartridges is just not worth it. Does anyone make cheap ink cartridges anymore?
As I dragged myself back home in a daze after spending a small fortune, I spent a little time online searching for a printer that used cheaper ink cartridges (talk about the tail wagging the dog).
Cheap Ink Cartridges to the Rescue
In my search I found a website that I wish I had discovered prior to making my costly purchase. The name of the website is House of Inks.com. House of Inks sells cheap printer ink cartridges. I’d bet they are recycled, but I’ve learned that recycled is good. As long as they work well (they offer a 100% guarantee) and are cheap, I’m a happy camper.
I have an older printer (HP inkjet 6122). On the House of Inks site, the color cartridge goes for $15.75. I paid $59 for the very same printer cartridge.
Unfortunately, I don’t need to purchase printer cartridges at the moment, but when I do I’m definitely going to give the House of Inks a try. $16 a cartridge is a lot cheaper than $60. Even if I have to pay shipping and handling (they offer free shipping), their prices are so cheap that it won’t matter.

Yowza, I though my ink cartridges were expensive at $25! We need to get some more ink soon (our printer has the annoying flashing light and messages every time we go to print something), so I’ll definitely check out this site. Thanks for sharing!
