My name is Felicia Williams, and I’m a work at home mom.  I’ve been working from home ever since I had my first workathomechild.  Let me rephrase that.  I continued to work at a full-time job, but added the work at home aspect as soon as my first child was born.  The job was never ending and never paying, except in the form of hugs, kisses and dirty diapers.

All parents are work at home parents whether or not they get a financial reward for it.  After the birth of my second child, we decided that I would forgo the out of the house full time job in an attempt to concentrate on the at-home full-time job (you know, the one that paid in hugs, kisses, etc.).  Over time, we found that the hugs and kisses did not pay the mortgage, so in addition to the full-time parenting gig, it was necessary to find something that paid a few dollars too.

After many years, many part-time jobs and online attempts, I finally found my niche as an online freelance writer and webmaster/blogger.  The hours were great, the commute even better and the pay, well, it grows over time.

I created this blog for a number of reasons.

  • Financial mishaps and poor decisions landed us in the same boat as many other folks.  The month became too long for the paycheck.
  • Rising prices, shrinking dollar and the increased struggle to stay afloat
  • The desire for a better quality of life

It is my belief that armed with the proper mindset we can accomplish anything.  The days of sitting around pointing the finger at the economy, the President, the boss, the oil companies, etc. are gone.  We have to take our financial future in our hands and fight back.  It’s time to take a stand.

This blog is about redeploying our money to make it go further.  If we can learn to be good stewards of the money we empowermentcurrently have, then we’ll be able to handle more when it comes in.  However, if we can’t handle a little money, who will trust us with more?

As I take the journey to becoming debt free, I intend to share my victories and mistakes along the way.  I invite you to share your victories too.  I believe the more we share our victories (and mistakes), the more we empower each other towards getting out of debt and living a better life.
